On this page
Dedon Tech publishes technology analysis, product comparisons and practical guides covering legal technology, insurance technology, fintech, software and web development. This page explains how that content is produced, sourced, checked and corrected.
Who writes for Dedon Tech
Articles are written by named contributors. Every article carries an author byline with a short biography explaining the author's relevant background. We do not publish under anonymous bylines or a generic "editorial team" label.
Where an article makes claims about legal, tax, insurance or financial matters, the author's background and the limits of their expertise are stated in the bio. A technology writer covering legal software is not a lawyer, and our bios say so.
How we research
We prioritise primary sources over secondary ones. Depending on the article, this means:
- Vendor documentation — pricing pages, Key Facts Documents, published feature documentation and release notes, accessed directly rather than through comparison sites.
- Regulator and government guidance — for example the Information Commissioner's Office and Financial Conduct Authority in the UK, the Canada Revenue Agency and Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions in Canada, and the Internal Revenue Service, state bar associations and courts in the United States.
- Statutes, regulations and published decisions where an article makes a legal claim.
- Independent reviews and user reports for product experience claims, clearly identified as user sentiment rather than verified fact.
Where a figure or claim cannot be independently verified, the article says so rather than presenting it as established. Pricing in particular changes frequently, and articles that quote prices carry a "last updated" date so readers know when that information was checked.
Use of AI tools
We use AI tools for research assistance and drafting. We do not publish AI-generated text without human editing and verification. Specifically:
- Every factual claim, figure, product name and price is checked by a human against a primary source before publication.
- Every legal or regulatory citation is verified against the actual source. We do not publish AI-generated case citations without checking them, because AI tools invent citations and US courts have sanctioned attorneys for filing them.
- Product recommendations reflect human editorial judgement, not model output.
- Images may be generated or enhanced using AI tools. Where an image is illustrative rather than documentary, it is not presented as a photograph of a real event.
Product comparisons and recommendations
Our comparisons aim to be useful rather than promotional. That means:
- We include limitations and trade-offs alongside strengths. A comparison that only lists advantages is not a comparison.
- We do not declare a single "best" product where the honest answer depends on the reader's circumstances. Where we do recommend something, we state the circumstances it suits.
- We do not accept payment for a favourable review, a ranking position or inclusion in a comparison table.
- Where a vendor has provided information, review access or a product demonstration, the article discloses it.
- Inclusion in a comparison is editorial. A product appearing in a table is not an endorsement of that product for every reader.
Advertising and affiliate disclosure
Dedon Tech is supported by advertising and may earn commission from some links. This does not affect editorial content.
- Advertising. Display advertising is served through Google AdSense and possibly other networks. Advertisers have no influence over editorial content, and we do not see or approve individual ads.
- Affiliate links. Where an article contains affiliate links, a disclosure appears near the top of the article, before the first affiliate link, and again in the footer. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
- Sponsored content. If we publish sponsored content, it is clearly labelled as sponsored at the top of the article. We do not currently publish sponsored posts.
Corrections
We correct errors. If you find a factual error, a broken figure or an outdated price, email techdedon@gmail.com with the article URL and the specific problem.
- Factual errors are corrected within five working days of verification.
- Where a correction materially changes an article's conclusion or recommendation, we add a visible correction note at the top of the article stating what changed and when.
- Minor typographical fixes do not carry a correction note.
- We do not delete articles to hide errors. If an article is substantially wrong, we correct it or add a note explaining what changed.
Updating articles
Product pricing, regulations and software features change. Articles in the legal, insurance and fintech categories carry a "last updated" date at the top and are reviewed periodically. Where an article refers to pricing or regulation, treat the "last updated" date as the point at which that information was verified, and check the primary source before acting on it.
If you are reading an article that appears out of date, please tell us at [[EMAIL]].
Comments
Comments are moderated. We remove spam, abuse and comments that promote products deceptively. We do not remove criticism of our articles.
What this site is not
Dedon Tech publishes general information. It does not provide legal, tax, financial or insurance advice, and reading it does not create any professional relationship. Articles about legal, tax, insurance or investment topics include a disclaimer for that reason. For advice about your own situation, consult a licensed professional in your jurisdiction.
Nothing on this site should be read as a recommendation to buy any specific financial or insurance product. Where an article discusses a product, it is describing how that product works, not advising you to purchase it.
