Three Nigerians And one South African Bitcoin trust fund (BTrust) Appoited By  Jack Dorsey

Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has appointed three Nigerians and one South African to the board of its Bitcoin trust fund (BTrust). On December 16, 2021, Dorsey made the announcement in a statement on his Twitter handle.

The appointment of the South African woman and the three Nigerians by Dorsey is for them to act as member board of his Bitcoin Trust (BTrust) fund which will be used for development in Africa and India.

The three Nigerians appointed into the Bitcoin trust fund are Ojoma Ochai, Abubakar Nur Khalil, Obi Nwosu, and Carla Kirk-Cohen from South African.

Dorsey who is also a cryptocurrency advocate, tweeted as he announced the leaders of the Bitcoin trust fund, I’m so grateful for you all and so inspired.

They will now work towards defining the operating principles as they think about how to best distribute the 500 bitcoin towards development efforts. Dorsey who just resigned as Twitter CEO, said that the four selected developers who have formerly worked to promote bitcoin development efforts across Africa from 7,000 participating applicants.

About The Formation of Bitcoin trust fund (BTrust)

Jack Dorsey formed the Bitcoin trust fund in partnership with Jay Z. American rapper and record label mogul. Both Jack Dorsey and Jay Z. had formerly announced their intention to give 500 BTC to set up the bitcoin trust fund development with him focusing on Africa and India based team. For now, it is not clear on how the trust will work in Nigeria, given that the CBN has placed a ban on all cryptocurrency transactions in the country.
